In children, the following signs may signal the presence of child abuse or neglect:

• Sudden changes in a child's behavior or school performance.  Has not received help for physical or medical problems brought to the parents' attention.
• Is overly watchful as though expecting something bad to happen. Is overly compliant, passive, or withdrawn.
• Comes to school or other activities early, stays late, and does not want to go home.

If you recognize these signs, DON'T WAIT.  SEEK HELP.

Abuse robs a life and damages a child's spirit.  It changes who that person is on a fundamental level.
